• Provides a comprehensive introduction to core concepts and applications of Participatory Action Research (PAR), an approach to research and inquiry that transforms the traditional"expert" role by bringing together community, researchers, and academics to investigate important societal problems. Explores theoretical aspects of PAR through the history, aims, ethical concerns, and theoretical and methodological foundations of PAR, while simultaneously building practical applications through core tools and best practices. Students are invited to bring own projects as application cases into the class. Limited to 25.
