• Explores space and society in ancient Pompeii. Combines on-site lectures and discussions in Rome, Pompeii, and Herculaneum exploring the political, social, economic, and cultural history of the built environment with hands-on materials-based research in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. Includes experimental archaeology labs on ancient concretes, frescoes, mosaics, and Egyptian blue. Takes place in Rome, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Naples, Italy; program fee required.
